One of the top middle-distance stayers of the 2008-2010 years was Vintage Octane. A fawn dog whelped October 2006. He was by Pure Octane from My Girl Georgina and was bred by Peter and Jeannine Giles. In a career that commenced in July 2008 he raced until April 2010. He raced 54 times for 22 wins 10 seconds and 6 thirds winning 158,755 dollars. Besides winning the Group 2 Sale Cup and Group 2 Zoom Top. He ran third in the National Distance Championship at Cannington behind Jarvis Bale, he was unplaced in the Sandown Cup behind Mantra Lad, 3rd in the Group 1Perth Galaxy, he also finished third in the Group 2 Cranbourne Cup and 3rd in the Group 3 Swan Draught Distance final over 715 at Cannington. Vintage Octane was raced by the Living The Dream Syndicate and featured great racing identity and media personality the late Dean Lester. He was throughout his career by master mentor Darren McDonald.
