1983 Waterloo Cup Chief Kruger

1983 Waterloo Cup winner Chief Kruger raced and trained by Fred Knee. Fred brought Chief Kruger and his litter sister Jessie Dingaan as pups from their breeders the Kruger family. By super race dog Chief Dingaan from Bev’s Jessie they were June 1980 whelps. Held at Charlton the Cup consisted of 52 all aged coursing performers. Chief Kruger beat the well performed Nelson’s Flyer in the semi-final then was too good for Aussie Worth bred raced and trained by veteran greyhound man Donnie Javis. The Trophy was donated to Museum when found by accident in Croydon. Photos include the late Fred Knee with Trophy and Chief Kruger in his yard at home.
