1971 Warragul Cup – Red Velore

The Warragul Cup of 1971 held in March of that year was won by Red Velore (Little Error x Kadia) bred by legendary owner-trained-breeder Joe Hull. The inventor of the Hydro Bath. Owned and trained by Fred Knee the race over 540 yards saw Red Valore win by a nose with the same margin between second and third. Miss Juvenile finished second and Yinnar Lass third in 28 and 14/16ths. A handy sprinter he won a number of races around Victoria including Sandown and Olympic Park. Like the Waterloo Cup this trophy was found by accident in Croydon.
