Jeff Collerson – Great sprinter was runner-up to Tara Flash for the 1971 NSW Greyhound of the Year award. Tara Flash got the nod because she won over 580 and 790yds at Wenty and over 500yds and 800yds at Harold Park. Incredible versatility. But Pied Rebel was the year’s best pure sprinter and Paul Cauchi is still training on the Gold Coast. He taught so many of Sydney’s current leading trainers. A true legend.
