Bred by Alf Standen and brought by Dapto hotelier Jack Duggan for $1500 as a 10-month-old pup on the recommendation of Ernie Rowe who later trained him. 97 starts for 42 wins, 24 seconds, 17 thirds. 14 unplaced runs he won $65,000 in prizemoney. Fast Sapphire contested 13 major finals for three wins two second and three thirds. Winner of the 1980 National Sprint Championship at Harold Park.
