T J and Leo Confoy’s First Box Draw System

The Confoy name is quite famious in the era of non-proprietary Greyhound Racing. Leo’s father T J Confoy in both Horse racing and Coursing. Leo as the pioneering Manager of Napier Park invented the Box Draw System not only for Greyhound Racing but Sporting Organisations as well. We have the Sandown’s Club original Leo Confoy box draw system on display in the museum as it was used at the old and new track sites. Here is a collection of artifacts and printed stories of how it all unfolded. Including the first Electric Timer used also at Napier Park.
