One the greatest cricketers this country has ever produced is Ricky Ponting. I first met him in Launceston in 2000 the club asked him to promote the Nationals and he was happy to be part of it. He had a passion for Greyhound Racing then and still does. I was most impressed with him when he stuck by the industry Australia wide when the troubles of 2015 engulfed us. Some deserted us but he and a number of other big names stuck thick. Besides being one the best players I have ever seen play a game I love, he is a very nice bloke.
