Mandarin Girl (Thunder Lane x Alma’s Nugget) April 1974. Bred by Paddy Hickmott of Wangaratta. Raced by Margaret Brown. Broken in and trained by Margaret’s husband Reggie Darvell of Northcote Victoria. Judged the 1976 New South Wales Greyhound of the Year that year she started 38 times for 21 wins and nine placings. She won the Ladies Bracelet, Geelong NCA Gold Cup, Lord Mayor’s cup, Summer Cup, Gabba Christmas Cup and the Prouds Diamond Trophy. Later on she included wins in the Gabba Gold Cup and Grafton Distance Championship. Overall Mandarin Girl raced on 78 occasions for 33 wins and 23 placings. Earning $47,000 in prizemoney. She raced on 21 tracks in three states winning on 16. She set two track records and won on no less than 18 different distances from 366 to 732 metres.
