Melbourne Cup run at the old Wollongong track

Apparently there used to be a race called the ” Melbourne Cup” run at the old Wollongong track. This photo is late 60’s. The winner Charlie Lee also won a Sandown Cup.

Jeff Collerson– Not too sure about that as I used to go to Wollongong on Monday nights and can’t ever remember them having a Melbourne Cup. Maybe it was dolllied up for the photo?

I replied – Found It Melbourne Cup 545yds
