I was contacted by a former Sandown casual employee Trevor Watson who asked if he could meet me at the club and have a look through the Museum. It always makes me feel good that Sandown has made an impression on people who have been connected to the club in many ways. Trevor saw fit to write the following piece of what the club had meant to him and it shaped his long and successful working life. His favourite race dog was “Swamper” a brindle speedster I also remember well. Bred in the purple by Dynamic Dean x Darville Lee Nov 78. He won 37 races best winning times were Sandown 30.38, Olympic 30.16, Geelong 26.12 and Ballarat 25.69.
