Not sure what I was doing at Launceston on September 29 1973. Grand Final day, I think Richmond beat Carlton. Footy trip away, from memory I dragged a very handy Springvale Footballer and Cricketer Ash Bates with me, he loved a punt. I noticed my old mate John Brakey had a few Glenavon’s in. The first was at 7.50 so I would have been drunk for sure and certain which could have clouded the punt.
