This amazing Sash for the Sandown Match Race series held in October 1940 featuring Jow Verse trained by the late Jim Harvey. A great trainer known widely as one of the best Hurdle trainers of all time. The winner Totara was trained by the late Ray Herbert Victorian and GCA Hall of Famer. The first prize of 250 pound would be worth $25,000 in today’s money. The sash in magnificent condition has been looked after by Gippsland legends Terry and Bev Proctor.
