Flemington Bridge Whippet Hurdle racing in 1927. On the site of the Flemington Markets it started in 1923 and was conducted by the Victorian Whippet Racing Club. Races were held over 120 yards. Lenore Frost a historical author from the area sent me a document showing the MMBW plan showing where the Gurney’s Running Ground was for the Whippet racing. There were also races held at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds back in 1929.
